Cinco de Mayo

The 5th of may is celebrated because it was the win during the Second French intervention in Mexico against the French army. It was unlikely for them to win because they were out numbered. For every 1 Mexican Soldier there were two French Soldiers. People often confuse this day for Mexican Independence Day, Mexican Independence Day is more about "the cry of independence" which started a revolt against the Spaniards.

Its a national holiday unlike Cinco De Mayo which is not a national holiday. My family most years have a cook out or a get together. We eat tamales and drink some hot chocolate. Last year Brewster and Bridgeport both had a parade and everyone else from every town we past went to Wenatchee to hang out and talk.
